A MONUMENTAL CELEBRATION
The Miami Woman’s Club Hosts Monuments & Milestones Breakfast and Galentine’s Day Happy Hour Supporting the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation
MIAMI, FL — January 19, 2026 — The Miami Woman’s Club will host a special day of programming on February 13, 2026, in support of the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation, celebrating women’s leadership, civic engagement, and the enduring legacy of the women’s suffrage movement.
The day begins with Monuments & Milestones: Bringing Women’s History to the National Mall, an awareness and informational breakfast featuring Anna Laymon, President and CEO of the Foundation. Laymon will share updates on the national effort to establish the first monument dedicated to women’s suffrage on the National Mall and discuss the historic role of women’s civic organizations in advancing democracy.
The breakfast is designed to educate and engage community leaders, stakeholders, and supporters in conversation around women’s history, civic participation, and the importance of securing a permanent national presence honoring the suffrage movement.
Later that evening, The Miami Woman’s Club will host a Galentine’s Day Happy Hour, a fundraising gathering focused on fellowship and connection, with proceeds supporting the Foundation’s mission to elevate and preserve women’s history in the nation’s capital. Together, the events reflect the Club’s long-standing commitment to education, service, and advocacy.
“We are grateful to The Miami Woman’s Club for creating space to share our mission and build awareness around this important national effort,” said Laymon. “It’s inspiring to gather in a historic place that has long supported women’s leadership.”
“Monuments & Milestones reflects our commitment to civic leadership and public education,” said Metris Batts-Coley, President of The Miami Woman’s Club. “As the convener, we are proud to bring this national conversation to Miami while supporting a monument that honors women’s history and inspires continued engagement in our democracy.”
Both events will take place at the historic Miami Woman’s Club clubhouse, a bayfront landmark that has served as a gathering place for women leaders and community advocates for more than a century.
